Hey, Hey ,Hey, Goodbye....

The Canucks win their third straight tonight beating the Leafs. Thornton gets tossed in his first game back in Boston, and OSU gets a record donation. Let's roll...

Canucks Outworked, Sneak by Leafs

Despite being badly outshot 38-19, the Canucks squeak by a 4-3 win over the Hated Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs were the better team tonight, they won the majority of the puck battles in the corners and dominated puck possession. But the Canucks were resilient, depending on the solid goaltending of Auld especially in the 2nd and 3rd periods. I must admit, the Canucks were lucky in their scoring chances and took advantage of their opportunities. As they say, sometimes its better to be lucky than good. Tonight was that night. Don't need to over-analyze this game, we won, let's take the 2 points and bring the momentum into Friday's game in New Jersey.

Thanks For The Memories, NOT!!!

It was Joe Thornton's first visit back to Beantown since being traded to San Jose just over a couple of months ago tonight in the Sharks/Bruins game. Thornton's return visit was a short one, just 6 minutes into the Game, Thornton checked Hal Gill from behind and was assessed a game misconduct and was tossed. Suprisingly the crowd was "subdued" after the hit. The Sharks didn't need Thornton blasting the Bruins 6-2 in the final. No question that the Sharks got the best deal out of the trade. Thornton has been solid with 26 points in 15 games since joining the Sharks.

Show Me The MONEY!!!

Ever wonder how those NCAA schools hire and pay for those Multi-million dollar Coaches?? Pete Caroll at USC. Rick Pitino at Louisville. Mike Krzyzewski at Duke. List goes on and on. Well today, Billionaire Texas Oil-man and Oklahoma State University alumnus Boone Pickens donates a record $165 Million dollars to OSU's Athletic Program. You can bet that a donation worth $165 Million dollars will get Boone more than just a free jersey and season tickets. More like a larger than life statue of the old fart in front of the already named Boone Pickens Stadium. Let's just hope that this record donation doesn't make Boone think he can make on-field and on-court decisions. Leave that to the experts that the $165 Million dollars is meant for.
