Team Canada Repeats

Feeling good in Vancouver tonight, Canada takes the gold in emphatic fashion, Canucks end the funk for now. Let's roll...

My Favorite Color is Gold

I predicted Canada would come out on top, but a 5-0 win?? That was remarkable. Team Canada dominated Team Russia from beginning to end. An incredible tournament, an incredible team. I've talked alot about how this team is truly a T-E-A-M and competes harder than their competitors which set them apart from the rest of the field. It's hard to single out anybody when it really was a team effort, but the players that really stood out on Team Canada included Goaltender Justin Pogge, Defenseman Luc Bourdon, Forwards Steve Downie and Blake Comeau. The most disappointing performance of the tournament has to be Team USA. With the talent they had, they should've dominated, but a lack of team chemistry sealed their fate, a 4th place finish and out of the medal finish.

We Win, We Win!!!

OK, so maybe it was nearly as dramatic and complete as Team Canada's win today, still the Canucks end their funk for now with a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Ed Jovanovski sat out his 4th straight in this one, Nikolai Khabibulin of the Hawks sat out as well. The game winner was a penalty shot scored by Jarkko Ruutu in the 3rd period. The Canucks should've beat the Hawks by much more considering that Khabibulin sat this one out. Still, they get the win and the 2 points which will be important down the stretch. Lets hope that we have a healthy lineup heading into a big divisional matchup vs the Calgary Flames on Saturday. Still the big chatter on the sports talk radio shows are, Fire Crawford, Get a Goalie, Trade Bertuzzi, Morrison, Jovanovski. It's an eventuality, Nonis will make a move, it's not about if but when.

Alexander is Greater

Seattle RB Shaun Alexander wins the NFL's MVP award today. Alexander received 19 first place votes, Peyton Manning of the Colts received 13. I find it absolutely absurd that anyone would NOT vote Alexander as their first place. The guy set an NFL record in most TDs scored in a season and won the NFL's rushing title for Christ's sake, what more do you want from an MVP?? The East Coast bias in the voting is so blatant and disgraceful it's utterly shameful. I really hope Alexander and the Seahawks beat all the pundits, East Coast biased writers and stuff it down their throats to win the Superbowl. Go Seahawks!!!

I'm going, I'm staying... Who Cares Manny

The most ridiculous story in Baseball continues to make headlines as Boston Red Sox OF Manny Ramirez reportedly wants to stay in Boston... Again. Who the f**k cares. Trade him to the Yankees already Red Sox. Manny is a great player but it's obvious that he's been hit by one too many bats and balls. But with Theo Epstein gone from Boston, the Red Sox will probably keep the headcase. I think I speak for most fans who simply don't care anymore. Get on with your life Manny, nobody cares about you and your stupid requests.
